Alocasia 'Purple Cloak' Large
Alocasia 'Purple Cloak' is a rare Alocasia with thick leaves. It originates from tropical climates in Asia, like many Alocasias. Native to the tropical island of Borneo in Southeast Asia it is s recognized for its dramatic V-shaped, dark green leaves with deep purple-red undersides.
How To Grow: Alocasia 'Purple Cloak' likes medium indirect light. Do not put in direct sun, or it will scorch the leaves. You have to be careful with light exposure on the leaves. The stunning leaves of the Alocasia Cuprea are prone to yellow from sitting in direct sun, so be careful to avoid leaf bleaching or damage.
Alocasia 'Purple Cloak' prefers humid temperatures (60%-80%) and do not expose it to extreme cold, or it may go dormant. They like their soil to be moist, but not wet, or you will cause root rot.
To keep Alocasias pest-free, keep them healthy by watering on schedule when the potting medium dries out, keeping a humid environment, and fertilizing when needed (ideally summer through fall.
