Philodendron ‘Rio’ in David Planter
Philodendron hederaceum ‘Rio’ is an icon and shares similar characteristics to Philodendron 'Silver Stripe' and Cream Splash. However, it tends to have more elongated leaves than the Cream Splash. It’s variegation pattern is silver in the center and is the only cultivar with this characteristics.
It has been consistent on this pattern for over a decade and was cultivated by Gabriella's.
Philodendron Rio does not like moist soil, they prefer and thrive in a well-draining and airy potting medium since they are epiphytes. They are easy care plants and will acclimate to average home humidity levels. Water when the potting medium dries. Fertilize during the growing season; spring through summer and fall. Use a slow-release or houseplant fertilizer and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
